VETERAN INFORMATION INDUSTRY STRATEGIST
STEVEN SIECK LAUNCHES SKS ADVISORS
(New York, October 1, 2007) Media and information industry firms need best-of-breed strategy consulting know-how more than ever as the next generation of Internet media engenders new threats and opportunities, according to information industry business strategist and industry analyst Steven K. Sieck, who today announced the launch of SKS Advisors, an independent, specialized business consultancy.
SKS Advisors will offer seasoned industry perspective, deep strategy consulting know-how, and truly independent viewpoints to help clients succeed in the digital information economy. “The information industry is experiencing a period of change as challenging as any since the emergence of the Internet as the fabric of digital communications,” Sieck noted. “Powerful trends including social media, a globalized marketplace, decentralized web services and platforms, the re-ascendance of online advertising, and the growing imperative of workflow integration are reshaping the roles and opportunities of virtually all publishers and information services providers. Making timely, well-informed decisions, while maintaining lean, focused organizations, is more essential than ever.”
Mr. Sieck has over twenty-five years’ experience helping industry leaders manage the opportunities and challenges of rapidly-evolving digital media and information services. Clients have included such companies as Reed Elsevier, Thomson, Wolters Kluwer, McGraw-Hill, IDG Communications, CMP Media, Primedia, and IBM. Before founding SKS Advisors, he led the US market entry of EPS, Ltd, a London-based research and consultancy provider. Previously, Sieck directed the Media & Entertainment practice of digital integrator iXL/Scient, and led critical strategy consulting engagements at PricewaterhouseCoopers Management Consulting Services. Sieck also helped drive the growth of pioneer interactive media research / consultancy LINK Resources from small startup to major division of IT research leader IDC. He recently served as the elected vice chairman of the Software & Information Industry Association’s Content Division board of directors.
